Summary: The teaching of Computer Science has become essential in Basic Education, promoting
fundamental problem-solving skills from the early years. Computational Thinking (CT)
stands out in this context as an indispensable 21st-century competence, recognized in the
Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC) and the National Education Guidelines and
Framework Law (LDB). Its integration into the curriculum requires teachers to adapt
their methodologies to innovative approaches supported by learning theories.
In this context, this research proposes the creation and implementation of a continuing
education program for teachers, focusing on Computational Thinking and the use of Active
Methodologies. To support this initiative, an eBook was developed, containing lesson plans
and didactic sequences to assist teachers in their instructional planning. The study also
presents an overview of how Computational Thinking has been incorporated into Basic
Education, with an emphasis on the state of Espírito Santo, analyzing teacher training
policies in alignment with the BNCC and the document "Computação Complemento à
BNCC."
The research was structured into three phases: a systematic literature review to map studies
on the development of CT, a survey with teachers from Espírito Santo to understand
their training, knowledge, and application of CT in the classroom, and case studies to
assess the implementation of the training strategies. The methodological approach was
qualitative, based on research-training, utilizing questionnaires, participant observation,
and data analysis from the pilot training program. As a result, an eBook was developed
to disseminate the topic and support teaching practices.
