Selection processes
Admission to the Postgraduate Program in Computer Science takes place twice a year with classes starting in the following March (1st semester) or August (2nd semester). The admission process includes the exam administered by the Brazilian Society of Computer Science, namely PosComp, and the analysis of the candidates curriculum vitae. **Doctoral Degree in Computer Science**
The Postgraduate Program in Computer Science has a rolling admissions policy and reviews PhD applications annually. Candidates are assessed by the program's admission committee and by their prospective advisor. Special student
Special Students are prospective candidates who have not yet been admitted to a degree program but who are taking degree-credit courses to qualify for admission, to improve professional qualifications, to transfer credits, or for personal interest. The selection process for special student candidates takes place twice a year, following the same academic schedule of the masters program.
